This year Holiday in October for the Chinese is a unique one. it is a holiday that has both the Mid-Autumn festival and the Chinese national day coinciding withing the same celebration period. The Chinese celebrate a week-long national holiday to mark the founding of the people republic of china on October 1st, 1949. if it coincides with the Mid Autumn festival, as it does once every 5 years, a day is added to the Holidays to make it 8 days of celebration for the Chinese to enjoy.
